We are opening up the Album of the Year judging panel to the FIRST TEN Whisperings listeners who wish to participate in the judging process.
If you'd like to participate, check out the requirements below and then if you agree, send a note, via email, to whisperings@solopianoradio.com.
There will be FOUR Album of the Year nominees (to be announced next week!)
1) To review the nominated albums in their entirety, you'll need to look the album up and listen on your preferred music service... be that Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube... wherever you prefer to listen to music (aside from Whisperings, of course!) So... having some way to listen to the *full* albums online would be one requirement.
2) We ask that you commit to listening through each of the nominated albums *several times.* All the nominees need a fair shot, and as you know, some albums take repeated listens before they start to become more familiar and connect with your ear. So be sure each album has an equal opportunity to shine!
3) After you become familiar with the albums, rank them in order... 1st place, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place, in the order that you feel they are most deserving of the title "Whisperings Solo Piano Album of the Year."
4) Then just email your results *privately* to us at whisperings@solopianoradio.com by May 17th at the latest. That will give you almost four weeks to listen through the albums and send in your rankings.
A) We ask that you not judge with any bias towards those nominees you may or may not know, or those you might feel, on a personal level, are more deserving. Our desire is that the winner be determined based solely on the music of this particular album, not on the merits of their full catalog, previous accomplishments, popularity, underdog status, or whatever.
B) We ask that you, as a judge, remain *completely* anonymous. So don't post about your participation via social media or engage directly with the artists or nominees about the process.
After we receive the results and rankings from all the judges, we will tally up the scores. The winner, based on the scoring, will be announced on May 21st, ideally.
